EWB-USA Projects help developing communities worldwide with their engineering needs, while involving and training internationally responsible engineers and engineering students.

Everyday, Ngelenge villagers walk one mile and wait many hours to fill a bucket of water for their basic survival needs. With your support, EWB-SFP is working to give these villagers access to a potable water system within 100 yards of every household. Such a system reduces water-borne disease infection that ordinarily keep children from attending school and farmers away from their fields.

In 2006, EWB-SFP raised funds to drill the main system well. This year we are raising funds to bring the water from the well to the people. The price tag on a solar powered pump, a water storage tank and a piped distribution system to bring the water from the reservoir to the taps is $100,000.

Thanks to generous donations from our supporters like you and the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund, we have raised over $45,000 toward this goal already. To complete the project, we need your help to bring clean water to people of Ngelenge! Please consider making a pledge of support to our Campaign for Tanzania today so that together, we ensure that Ngelenge's 2000+ villagers have access to this most basic necessity of life.
